Nets reportedly trade Kyrie Irving to Mavericks for 2 players, “multiple” picks

NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets are trading guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for players and draft picks, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania

The Nets would receive Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round draft pick and “multiple” second-round picks. 

The Mavericks are sending a 2029 unprotected first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 second round-pick to the Nets, sources @TheAthletic @Stadium. Brooklyn also is sending Markieff Morris to Dallas. https://t.co/EtqlQqQuGq

Earlier in the week, Irving requested a trade after talks on a possible contract extension with Brooklyn broke down. 

The Nets signed Irving to a four-year, $136 million contract in 2019.
