Meet Ward 1 Incumbent Jerry Allen

Incumbent Ward 1 Commissioner Jerry Allen spoke with Enidlive.com about his reelection campaign for the Ward 1 Commissioner race. During the interview, Allen spoke about why he is seeking reelection saying, “we have a lot of things going on”. Allen spoke about the Kaw Lake Water Supply Project, the Ames Water Project, and the new soccer complex as some of those things.

Allen went on to talk about ongoing city talks about retail development saying “looking at some new department stores and I wish I could tell you the neat things about that but its all very secretive and they don’t let us talk about it but I cannot tell you how very close we are”.

Allen also touted his presence in public life in Enid, ‘I’ve been around this town for 65 years and my life has somewhat always been in the public”. Allen mentioned working in the local restaurant and nightclub, funeral home, and insurance businesses. Allen also served as a City Commissioner in the 90s and has served on the park board for 28 years.
