Meet Incumbent Ward 2 Commissioner Derwin Norwood

Incumbent Enid Ward 2 Commissioner Derwin Norwood spoke with Enidlive.com about his upcoming bid for reelection. When asked why he is running for reelection Norwood said: “I enjoy what we do as a city council, I’ve been doing it for 6 years and after doing it for so long it becomes a part of your life”. Norwood went on to say “you become a watchman and a protector it becomes personal”.

One of Norwood’s priorities is continuing to improve infrastructure throughout the city which he believes his construction background helps with, Norwood owns Norwood Construction. Norwood believes the Enid City Council as currently constructed is doing a good job. “We have a great city council and we will continue to stay great as long as we stay together”.

Norwood also believes bringing new businesses and more competition to Enid is a good thing for the city, speaking of competition Norwood said “it keeps everyone honest and accountable”. Voting for the Enid Mayor and Ward 1 and Ward 2 races is currently underway.
