Lady Gaga will not be performing at this weekend’s Oscars.
Glenn Weiss, one of the show’s executive producers explained to press on Wednesday (3-8) that she’s busy making a movie and felt that she couldn’t give her performance the time and commitment it would need, to meet her expectations.
Since Gaga is nominated for best original song with “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, many thought she would be there. All five nominees were invited and she’s the only one that can’t make it.
She’s currently working on the movie, Joker: Folie à Deux, where she plays opposite Joaquin Phoenix. The release date is Oct. 9, 2024.
