THIS FRIDAY: The 2nd Annual Guns N’ Hoses Softball Game

A big week for the city of Enid starts this weekend! The NJCAA Division II World Series will make its return to Enid for the 13th year at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. We’re looking forward to covering at least 7 (potentially 8) days of baseball involving some of the best Division II Junior College Baseball teams in the country. But before the first pitch is thrown on Saturday, there’s fun to be had on Friday night to officially bring in the start of the World Series. And that is the 2nd Annual KNID Guns N’ Hoses game!

Following the opening ceremonies, the Enid Fire Department will take on the Enid Police Department in a slow pitch softball game for the ages. The E.F.D. will look to make it 2-for-2 in Guns N’ Hoses titles after they beat the Police Department last year 10-3. The Fire Department is pretty confident that they will be able to keep the trophy in their trophy case. However, the Police Department is hungry for that trophy and are looking to take it for the first time. Last year’s game was a lot closer than the 10-3 score would indicate. The two teams were pretty close early but then the Fire Department pulled away in the later innings. We’ll see if their hunger for the title will be enough to push the Police Department to the win on Friday night.

The event is free to the public so come on down to David Allen Memorial Ballpark and enjoy an unforgettable night of softball. There will be free hot dogs for everyone (big shoutout to Stanley’s Wrecker Service on providing those). So bring the kids, bring the whole family, and enjoy the opening night of this year’s NJCAA DII Baseball World Series! However, if you’re unable to be at the ballpark, never fear. While you won’t get to enjoy the free hot dogs, you can still listen to the game and see who comes out on top. The game will be broadcast on 107.1 KNID with the pregame show starting around 7:50PM and first pitch scheduled for 8PM.
