Apple Now Considers Original AirPods A “Vintage & Obsolete” Product

Apple now categorizes its original AirPods as “vintage and obsolete.” Launched in 2016 with a distinctive design and the proprietary W1 chip for seamless pairing, the innovative headphones are now considered vintage because they were discontinued 5-7 years ago. However, vintage products are still eligible to receive support from Apple and authorized repair shops. The first-generation HomePod and iPhone X have also been designated as vintage. Despite their age, the HomePod retains significant value, with pre-owned units fetching $150 and up, while the iPhone X, originally priced at $1,000, is now available as used models starting at $100.
