‘Despicable Me 4’ Ignites July 4th Box Office With $27 Million Debut

Despicable Me 4 got the holiday weekend box office off to a strong start, earning $27 million on its opening day. Steve Carell and Will Ferrell star in the animated sequel, which is expected to earn around $120 million over the five-day July 4th weekend. Meanwhile, Inside Out 2, earned another $7.3 million, A Quiet Place: Day One brought in $4.4 million, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die collected $1.2 million, and Kevin Costner’s self-financed Horizon: An American Saga continued to bomb, earning just $1.1 million.
