Jon Bon Jovi’s Mother, Carol Bongiovi, Dies At 83, And Jon Pays Tribute To Her

Jon Bon Jovi’s mother, Carol Bongiovi, died on Tuesday (July 9) at the age of 83. Bongiovi died of undisclosed causes at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J., only three days short of reaching her 84th birthday. The Bon Jovi frontman paid tribute to his mother on Wednesday in a statement from the family: “Our mother was a force to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family. She will be greatly missed.”

In addition to that statement, Bon Jovi also shared a touching remembrance of his mother on Instagram, sharing a clip from Bon Jovi’s 2020 song, “Story of Love,” with images of his mother featured in the video. Jon captioned his post, “Momma We carry you with us Always ❤️❤️” Carol Bongiovi was born Carol Sharkey in Erie, Pennsylvania on July, 12, 1940 and she is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Francis Bongiovi Sr., their three sons and daughters-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
