The pioneering Los Angeles pop-rock group’s sonic masterpiece, Pet Sounds, reenters the Billboard 200 chart at No. 136, its highest rank in nearly 60 years. The groundbreaking album originally peaked at No. 10 in 1966, and is one of 13 Top 10 albums for the group. Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys, released in 2003, vaulted 128 spots to reach No. 52. Streams of the group’s songs increased by 126%, with their collected tracks selling 19,000 units and experiencing a significant increase in digital song sales, specifically for “God Only Knows,” which debuted at No. 7 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” the group’s most-streamed song of the week (2.28 million; up 78%), which debuted at No. 18 on Digital Song Sales.
