Kendrick Lamar took his rap beef with Drake all the way to the No. 1 song on the Billboard chart. And now, the venomous hip-hop battle that consumed the music world earlier this year has now become a pop culture landmark – a question on Jeopardy. In Tuesday’s episode of the celebrated game show, K. Dot and Drizzy showed up in the cleverly named category, “DISS-TRACK-TIONS.” The clue was, “In May 2024, these two competitors went back & forth with tracks like ‘Family Matters’ and ‘Meet The Grahams,’” with Kendrick and Drake the obvious response.
But the social impact of their rivalry doesn’t stop there for the rap superstars. “Not Like Us” has been turned into an 8-bit video game created by designer Richie Branson, where you try to wop as many owls as you can – like Kendrick did to the OVO piñata in the song’s music video. And when it rains on Drake, apparently it pours, as Drizzy’s Toronto mansion, known as The Embassy, has recently flooded. (Stereogum)
