The Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans is hosting the week-long veteran honor event “Celebrate Freedom” from Nov. 2-11.
From weekend to weekend, visit various locations across Enid to celebrate everything that our veterans have fought for across our country.
- Saturday, Nov. 2
Ride to Remember along with cars, motorcycles and trucks that will make a 100-mile trip to various military sites; leaving from ML Becker Educational Center at Woodring Regional Airport. Drive down to the OK Military History Exhibit in the Oakwood Mall from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for some vendors, live music and a bake sale! The parking lot will also have local food trucks.
- Tuesday, Nov. 5
Gather on the Vance Air Force Base main road on Kincade Blvd for a Tree Planting Ceremony at 10 a.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 6
Drop by the First Baptist Church at 401 West Maine St. for a free Luncheon for Veterans.
- Thursday, Nov. 7
Gaslight Theatre will host “The Veterans Story,” where local veterans share their military experiences beginning at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 9
The Veterans Day Parade will troop down the downtown square at 11 a.m.
- Monday, Nov 11
The Stride Bank Center will serve as the venue for the Veterans Day Services and Legacy Award Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient Dwight Birdwell will be the keynote speaker for the event.
