The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center announced the opening of its new exhibit: “A Broader View: The 1893 Land Run in an Era of American Change.”
This immersive exhibit takes you back in time to give you a new view of the 1893 Land Run and other events across the country.
With the Treaty of New Echota in 1835, the want to expand westward derived from creating territorial governments and opening land runs. In 1893, the territory experienced its largest land run amongst an economic panic and a large period of immigration. Men and women assume new roles while creating homesteads and businesses in a time of need.
The Land Run Exhibit cost is included in regular museum admission and will be displayed in the Mabee Foundation Gallery from now to Nov. 2.
