The City of Enid’s official Facebook page has announced the closure of the city parks’ facilities and features allowing crews to winterize the facilities for the season.
The facilities are winterized every year to prevent damage to plumbing, irrigation, drinking fountains, and restrooms. The following are the parks affected:
- Champlin Park
- Crosslin Park
- Government Springs Park (North)
- Meadowlake Park (north and south sides)
The park amenities will close on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and plan to reopen in Spring 2025. Portable toilets will be provided at Champlin Park, Crosslin Park, Government Springs Park, and both sides of Meadowlake Park as compensation.
The Cleveland Trailhead restrooms will remain open during the winter since they are heated; the Government Springs restrooms are currently under renovation and are expected to reopen this winter as heated facilities.
