The City of Enid has announced that six contracts have been awarded to replace six water mains across the community.
The money for the contracts will come from a $3,594,450 loan provided by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. Approximately $1 million of the loan will be forgiven by the board and will not be paid back.
The following are the locations for each of the six water main replacements:
- 100-400 block of East Hickory
- 100-400 block of East Olive
- 100-200 block of East Cottonwood
- 700-2000 block of East Cherokee
- 700-800 block of South Van Buren
- A tie-in and loop project along:
- 2100 block of West Cherokee
- 200 block of South Hayes
- 1900-2000 block of West Maine
These projects will serve to prevent costly repairs in the future, provide better stability in the area for fire flows and increase the overall efficiency of the community’s water system.
