EnidLIVE! recently sat down with Evans to discuss the upcoming Tournament and he was happy to give insight on what’s to come.

Evans started off by being optimistic about the event and the cornhole tournament.

“Our FOP is hosting our 13th Annual SAS Tournament, this year we switched to kickball. We’re hoping for a good turnout and to raise a lot of funds for our beneficiary this year,” Evans said.

Officer Evans continued about how the tournament benefits the Enid community.

“Every year, we pick somebody in the Enid community battling cancer. This year we chose Amy Barnes who was a Chisholm Teacher for a long time,” Evans said. “She unfortunately passed away from her battle with cancer on the 18 of last month. But we would like to give all the funds raised next weekend to her family.”

Evans was happy to share his favorite part of the tournament.

“We’ve had years where we’ve hit super high numbers; its always great…at the end of the night whenever you give the big fake check to the family in need, or the person who needs it the most,” Evans said. “I think that little boost always gets them a little happier whenever things aren’t going their way.”
