Multifaceted artist Dwight Yoakam is coming to the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Feb. 21.
Born in the mountain-moving city of Pikeville, Kentucky, Yoakam was interested in music and drama, participating in school plays and playing in garage bands. In 1986, Yoakam released his debut album, “Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.” featuring a blend of country and rock. This album reached #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, along with twelve additional top-ten hits.
Known for his tenor singing voice, Yoakam blends country and rock to create songs with ironic lyrics that are easily digestable. Plus, Yoakam has collaborated with artists such as Beck, John Mellencamp and k.d. lang.
