The Enid Gem & Mineral Society will have its annual Rock Swap and Sell featuring rock and gem booths.
This shopping venue will feature booths with shopping for gems, ammonites, fossils, rocks, jewelry beads, and more! Whether you’re buying some for your garden or your collection, the Rock Swap and Sell has something for you.
The event is set for May 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Breezeway in downtown Enid.
John Haacke from Enid Gem and Mineral Society had an interview with EnidLIVE! to talk about the upcoming event.
Haacke started off by talking about the event as a whole.
“This year we’re going to have 18 vendors at a minimum. Several are coming from out of state to participate each year,” Haacke said. “The weather looks like it’s going to be wonderful that day; we’re hoping for a large turnout of people that don’t necessarily have anything to do on a Saturday.”
Haacke talked about a spin-to-win wheel for the kids.
“We’re gonna have a table there set up specifically for kids. They can spin a wheel, no matter what number or line it lands on, they’re gonna get themselves a little pretty rock to walk away with,” he said. “That’s my main focus…to bring younger people into it that can keep it going, you know.”
