The Enid Amateur Radio Club presents Enid Hamfest on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Ham Radio, or Amateur Radio, is the hobby of using radio frequencies for non-commercial uses such as communication, recreation, and music. Truckers, law enforcement, and emergency services also use amateur radio to communicate long-range. Additionally, people use ham radio to talk across town, worldwide, and even to space.
The event is slated for Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At Hamfest, you will get to learn more about the world of radio, how it works, and even apply to become a licensed amateur radio operator.
Admission will be $10 at the door.
