Enid High School has announced that two students, Dana Guinn and Cooper McKee, as Jazz Choir All-State Members.
These two students will join the group of 24 students selected in Oklahoma. This is the first time that students from EHS have been selected.
Students undergo a highly competitive audition process to perform at the All-State Convention hosted by the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association (OkCDA). Selected individuals are chosen by section: soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
The Head Director of the EHS vocal program, Matt Johnson, spoke about this milestone for the two students.
“I am super proud of Cooper and Dana, they have worked so hard for four years and it has really paid off. The audition process is very rigorous and all students who make it have to rank in the judge’s top six. That is three different opinions by three different people that have to match. It’s very competitive and we’re proud of these students for representing Enid in this way.”
