Enid Public Schools recently announced that the National Endowment for the Arts has approved a $10,000 award for Challenge America.

The NEA will award 272 Challenge America awards nationwide as part of its fiscal year 2025 grants.

The grant will aid EPS in providing development in the arts for early childhood and elementary school teachers. The program is titled the “Art Connection” and is being done in collaboration with the Enid Arts Council. The goal is to provide teachers with the supplies to integrate art into literacy instruction.

Randy Rader, the EPS Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, expressed his excitement about the awarded grant.

“EPS would like to thank the NEA, The Enid Arts Council and North Garland Church of Christ for funding this grant,” Rader said. “I am very excited for the opportunity this grant will provide our teachers. Art integration is an important part of our literacy instruction and this will provide the training we need to do it well.”
