The Enid Police Dept. released a PSA regarding the correct booster seat for your child depending on age.

Choosing the correct booster seat for your child is imperative to ensure their safety when on the road.

  • Rear-Facing Seat
    • From ages 0 to 2-years-old, your child should be in a rear-facing car seat until they pass the age or weight limit of the seat.
  • Forward-Facing Seat
    • All children under 4-years-old must be seated in a forward-facing seat with an internal harness.
  • Booster Seat
    • From 4 to 8-years-old, children should be seated in a booster seat unless they are taller than 4’9″.
  • Seat Belt (No seating restriction)
    • All children above 4’9″ should be seated without any seat addition.

This guide serves as a crucial reminder for parents and caregivers to regularly assess and adjust their child’s car seat setup to ensure maximum safety on the road.
