Fire Safety Protection: A Smoke Alarm PSA

SHARE NOW

The City of Enid released a statement regarding smoke alarms to help educate the public about proper installation and maintenance.

Most fire deaths are caused by smoke inhalation, making smoke detection an utmost priority.

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms should be tested each month. Change the batteries as soon as you hear the low battery ping from the smoke detector. Place a smoke alarm in each bedroom and on each level of the house. Do not put a smoke alarm near windows, doors, or high draft areas as they can prevent the alarm from detecting smoke.
