EnidLIVE! sat down with Mike Dotson and Larry Louis to talk about the upcoming Fling at the Springs music festival.

Dotson began by talking about the lineup for this year’s bands. There will be all sorts of genres represented from country, to rock, to red dirt!

“We’re going to fire off at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, we’re doing full bands all day, starting off with ‘AllTown.’ It’s a young band out of Enid. They’ve been pretty successful and we’re excited to have them. A band called ‘Diablo Sammich’ is up next. And then we have an 80s hair band; literally spandex wigs called ‘Nightrider.’ They’ll be super fun. ‘Skeleton Station’ follows them; they’re more of a traditional country band. And then we’re excited to have the ‘Red Dirt Rangers,’ followed by our headliner: ‘Kin Faux.’ They are gonna be high energy; it [will] be a fun day.”

Dotson wanted to inform the public about the alcohol policies and the discontinuation of selling it.

“You can bring alcohol to the park, it just can’t be in glass bottles. We’re not going to sell anything [alcohol] this year. Traditionally we’ve sold beer, but decided to back off that.”

Dotson finished off by sharing the reception of the different acts.

“It’s usually well-supported, we have a good turnout. Traditionally, we’ve started with acoustic acts, and they draw a little less crowd. So this year, starting with full bands and going with full bands all day; we’re expecting a better turnout…get there early, it’s a come-and-go free show.”

97.7 The Hawk and 106.3 The Wolf will be live at the event. Be sure to stop by and say hi!
