Oklahoma Arts Council to Host Creative Aging Exchange

The Oklahoma Arts Council is set to host the third installment of its Creative Aging Exchange in Enid on Friday, May 2.

This free, day-long professional development event aims to highlight the benefits of creative aging programs for older adults through various presentations and panel discussions. Scheduled to take place at the Enid Symphony Orchestra, the event is designed for professionals in health, aging and social services, as well as individuals from arts organizations and teaching artists.

The initiative, part of the Oklahoma Creative Aging Initiative launched in 2021, strives to enhance community-based arts education programs to improve the quality of life for the growing older adult population.

The following is the itinerary for the event:

  • 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.
    • The Benefits of Creative Aging
  • 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
    • Model Programs: Presentations and Panel Discussions
  • 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
    • Lunch Networking
  • 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. 
    • Arts Education Model: How to Create and Implement a Program
  • 2 to 3 p.m.
    • Oklahoma Arts Council Grants Workshop
