After 35 long years of service to the Enid Community, the Rev. Lester L. Lowry D.D. will give his final sermon at Evangel Assembly of God this Sunday.
Pastor Lowry, 84, will begin his final sermon at 10:50 a.m. at his church at 2717 West Broadway Ave. Then, an appreciation reception will be held at the church from 2-4 p.m. No gift will be necessary to attend the reception, but Pastor Lowry does appreciate cards!
Pastor Lowry, known as Enid’s “Singing Pastor”, sat down with EnidLIVE! to discuss the challenges he has faced in his life, his time in the Air Force, his time as a pastor in Enid, his love for the community and the ways he has seen God work through his life as well as the lives of others.
“It just seemed like this was the place the Lord wanted me to be,” Pastor Lowry said. “I love everybody on planet Earth and I love everybody in Enid…I’ve been serving the Lord all my life and He’s been so good to me [and He’s] blessing me even now because of the life I’ve lived for Him.”
