In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Patrol Sgt. Tyler Evans from the Enid Police Department to talk about the upcoming 4th Annual KNID Guns N Hoses Charity Softball Game.

The sergeant started off by mentioning some young newcomers to the roster to help win against the FD.

“We [have] a couple [of] young guys that are going to come in and help us, and I think [they’ll] give us a good chance to win this year.”

The firefighters played a little joke on the PD: the trophy said “2025 Champs” when they brought it in.

Here’s the sergeant’s response:

“I was talking trash to them on social media the other day, so it’s a good battle…we have that going on as the year leads up to it.”

Evans discussed last year’s game and what gave the FD the win.

“If everybody can remember last year, we were actually in the lead up until the last couple of innings, and a couple [of] defensive errors there gave up the lead. We’re hoping to stop that from happening and maybe get some good defensive stops in and take the trophy home this year.”

The EPD will face the EFD at the 4th Annual Guns N Hoses Charity Softball Game! Gametime is at 7 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark with the NJCAA Division 2 World Series opener at 6 p.m.
