A single-vehicle accident that happened along West Owen K. Garriott Rd. in the early hours of Monday morning has resulted in the destruction of St. Mary’s digital billboard.
The driver involved in the accident was travelling in the westbound lane on Owen K. Garriott Rd. in their 2005 Buick LeSabre at 2:15 a.m. on Monday. The Enid Police Department reported that the driver claimed they were distracted by their phone shortly before the accident took place.
The Buick left the roadway to the right, going over the curb, knocking over two road signs and the St. Mary’s digital sign before finally coming to a rest. The driver was reported to have minor injuries to their head, arms and external torso, but they refused transportation to the hospital.
