The City of Enid has announced it is accepting applications for an interim Ward 3 commissioner after Keith Siragusa resigned from the post to become the new undersheriff in Grant County.
Siragusa, a former EPD officer, will join new Grant County sheriff Tim Irvin’s regime no later than Jan. 1, 2025. These changes within the Grant County Sheriff’s Office come after four local deputies resigned at the same time back in October, leaving the station severely understaffed.
In order to qualify as an applicant for the vacant commissioner seat, one must:
- Be a registered voter
- Be at least 25 years old or older
- Have been a citizen of the City of Enid for at least two years prior to the appointment
- Be a bona fide resident of Ward 3
Applications for the seat can be found here and will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18. Then, a meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers of the City Administration Building where applicants will address the commission and answer any questions.
The chosen applicant will be decided at that meeting and will serve an unexpired term until May 5, 2025.
Information may be obtained in the office of the City Clerk, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Municipal Complex at 401 West Owen K. Garriott Rd. You can also call 580-616-7274.
