Comic and gaming fans unite! The beloved Enid Comic-Con is making its return to the Stride Bank Center from Aug. 2-3, aiming to bring excitement, big guests and plenty of cosplay!
Comic-Con is a pop culture convention originating in San Diego, California. The event celebrates comics, movies, TV shows, gaming, and more! Smaller Comic-Cons develop all around America, including Enid, OK! Whether you’re a seasoned convention-goer or a first-timer, Comic-Con has something for everyone!
Derek Darr sat down with Nicole Forbes from the Stride Bank Center to discuss the event.
Forbes shared excitement for seeing new stuff come in every year.
“It’s great to be able to watch it grow and see all the new vendors [and] new collectibles that are coming in. The cosplay, there’s usually a few that are just, you’re blown away by the talent of people creating these cosplay costumes, and it’s just a really fun event.”
Forbes also talked about the most exciting thing for Comic-Con, before discussing the fun people can have by attending.
“I think [its] definitely the cosplay. Being able to [see] some of those smaller celebrities and stuff we get. We had Pippi Longstocking here a few years ago. We had Darth Vader, we had the Hulk several years ago. So it’s just exciting to see those smaller celebrities, artists, cosplayers, and unique collectibles that you don’t necessarily see all the time…you can come and get them right in person and just have a really good time and connect with people who have similar interests.”
Tickets go on sale next week for $10 admission. Children under 6 are admitted for free with the purchase of an adult ticket. Military personnel, first responders, and teachers are eligible for a 10% discount.
