Three students from the Enid FFA Chapter, Lynlee Redding, Abigail Ball and Preston Galloway, sat down with EnidLIVE! to discuss the FFA Week, as well as upcoming events for the chapter in 2025.

CTB News Director Colby Talley interviewed the three students to discuss FFA week, and some background on the students.

Redding began by talking about what FFA Week is about, and also discussed a planned trip in the near future.

“FFA Week is a national week that celebrates the FFA and all what we do. Each day highlights a different aspect of things. Wednesday is national Ag Teacher Appreciation; this week for FFA week, we we’re gonna go to the Capital on Tuesday and meet with representatives and the senators, but, due to weather, it got pushed back…we’re preparing for [our] district animal shows [in which] we show cattle and goats. ”

Each student also highlighted why they joined FFA. For instance, Ball wanted to join FFA because her mother was in the Drummond branch.

“I joined FFA because my mom was in the Drummond FFA when she was younger; she showed a lot of pigs, and I like pigs, they’re cool.”

Redding was excited to join FFA to expand her knowledge on respect and farming.

“I like FFA because it promotes things like leadership and respect amongst each other; I learned a lot that I didn’t know before about ‘where our food comes from,’ and farming…Me and my family do wheat and cattle, but there’s a lot that I didn’t know about it.”

Galloway shared about how he came from California and branched into FFA.

“I’m from California, I’m not originally from Oklahoma; we’re citrus farmers, so I knew a little bit about it….” Galloway continued by talking about taking a horticulture class before joining FFA.
