1957 - 2025
Elizabeth Ann Jeter was born July 16, 1957 to parents Joan K Hill and Wiley Price Jeter, Jr., now deceased. Elizabeth passed away peacefully in her home on June 27, 2025. She is survived by her sisters Susan Lynn and Barbara Diane, by her brother Paul David, and by many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia while her father served as a physician in the US Army. After Army service, Wiley and Joan moved the family back to their home state and settled in Oklahoma City, where Elizabeth grew up. She graduated high school class of 1975 in Moore, OK, and then went to Oklahoma State University for two years. She transferred to the University of Texas and graduated there because her parents had moved to Texas. She graduated from UT Austin with two bachelor’s degrees and a masters degree in public health (MPH). In 1997 she earned a BSRN with honors from UT Galveston. She lived in Denton, TX until relocating to Hunter OK in the early 2000s. She worked for IT companies in the healthcare industry for many years.
Elizabeth was kind and loving. She never married. She gave up much to care for her mother and father at the end of their lives. She quit her job and moved to Wichita Falls, TX to care for her father. She also cared for her mother who suffered a stroke just prior to her father’s passing.
Elizabeth’s joy in life and her true passion was for horses, a passion which began in her early childhood. She had three fine horses over the years and was a student of the English riding styles hunter/jumper and dressage for many years. Illness forced her to retire from work and riding. She suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, nearly dying in 2018 prior to receiving a double lung transplant at the UT Southwestern lung transplant program. After the transplant she never fully recovered and received care in her home from her older sister Susan for many years.
A graveside service for Elizabeth will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, in the Rosedale Cemetery, in Ada, OK under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
