A Celebration of Life for Jack Dean Holt, 91 will be at 2:00 PM on Monday May 12, 2025, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home chapel. Arrangements are made by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jack Dean Holt was born August 25, 1933, in Ames, Oklahoma to John Mack Holt and Vina Adams Holt. They moved to a farm between Fairview and Chester when he was two years old. He attended Union Grade School and rode his horse, Kickapoo, to and from school. He graduated from Longdale High School and Enid Business College.

Jack worked for Groendyke Transport for 12 years as an accountant then drove a truck for Nickels Trucking Co. Jack became the owner and operator of Jack’s Small Engine Repair for 20 years. He purchased a Piper 80 airplane that he used to pick up parts for his shop. He retired in 1995.

The love of Jack’s life was his wife, Dorothy Vaughn, his wife of 50 years, who preceded him in death.

He attended the Midway Assembly of God west of Fairview as he was growing up and the Assembly of God on Oakwood Road in Enid as an adult. He enjoyed playing his electric steel guitar or his bass guitar at church and in a group called the “Gospel Grandpas.” He drove the church bus taking seniors to Branson.

Jack spent his last days at the Baptist Village. He loved driving his electric scooter there. Hus hobbies included puzzles, watching old cowboy reruns, playing dominos, and checkers.

He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, William, Jerald, and Gilbert; and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
