The Alva Goldbugs’ Head Football Coach Ryan Wilson sat down with CTB Sports Director Derek Darr to discuss the upcoming game against the Newkirk Tigers.

Wilson started off by talking about what has been the key to success this season.

“It’s been all of our seniors. We’ve got 11 guys out there that completely play for each other and they don’t care too much about the self-accolade that they’re gonna get. Cause there’s a few guys [that] are getting recognition in the off-season, they deserve it. What [is] important to them is not the self, they’re extremely selfless and they love each other, and that’s probably the coolest part…. ”

Coach Wilson also broke down the key to the Alva Goldbugs’ offense.

“The triple offense [is] tough to do. You gotta get a lot of reps in it, and have a quarterback back there that understands his reads, when his pitch is, when to give/take it, and take off and run…The whole heartbeat of what we do offensively is Camel Gaisford. He is the brain back there, the heartbeat, the general; he’s the guy that understands when to pull, when to pitch, what we’re doing….”

You can listen to the game LIVE on Nov. 7 on CTB Sports on Mix 95.7. Pregame begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7 p.m.
