Alva Head Softball Coach Megan Stratton Talks Upcoming Season

CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Alva Ladybugs Softball Head Coach Megan Stratton to talk about what’s coming up for the Ladybugs.

Coach Stratton began by talking about the expectations for this year’s lineup.

“We’re returning a lot of our starters, five seniors this year. We have high expectations; we were one game away from making the state tournament last year,” Stratton said. “Our goal this year is to make it to the state tournament and make a run for the state title.”

Stratton was excited to share some star players who are coming back this year.

“The nice thing about our seniors is they’ve all pretty much started since they were freshmen. They have been crucial to our success over the last years,” said Shatton. “We’ve got Jaycee Kelln who was our pitcher for the last two or three years; Ruby Nichols, who has been our starting shortstop since she was a freshman, and has done a fabulous job for us; “Dylen Marteney, who was our catcher for us when we needed it….”
