In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Burlington Elks head Boys Basketball coach Kolby White to discuss the upcoming Road to the Gold Ball matchups.

Coach White reflected on the challenges faced at the beginning of the season and the team’s improvement after returning from the Christmas break.

“We had a rough start to the season [in] the first year taking over a team. Not very many guys but once we came back from Christmas break we started to put some stuff together and just trying to get better every day.”

White was excited to share some key players who have stepped up this season.

“My senior, Zane Willard, had 14 [points]. [He] hit some big threes at some clutch moments and one of my juniors, Kyden Archuleta, he was 10 for 12 from the free-throw line, really helped us there…One of my sophomores, Alfred Obiero, he just solid for us defensively and does a great job crashing the boards and stopping other teams’ best players. So it was really a group effort but I would say Zane and Kyden had a huge part just with their point output that they gave.”
