Chisholm Head Football Coach Cameron Condor spoke with CTB Sports about taking the Chisholm Head Coaching job. Condor most recently was the Head Football Coach at Enid High School, where he also previously served as the Offensive Coordinator.

Coach Condor, known for his high-octane offenses at Enid, spoke about the style he will run at Chisholm saying “We’ve got, you know, a lot of pieces in place to be a really good football team and so we’re going to, you know, continue to do what, you know, we’ve done, you know, the last 10 years in Enid and, you know, we’re going to play with some pace and kids have really gravitated to, you know, the tempo, you know, we started spring ball this week and I think the first day they heard me talk for 12 weeks now about how fast we’re going to play and how we probably practice different than a lot of people and get reps in and that’s the name of the game for me and so, you know, the first day of spring ball, the kids loved it.  We got a lot of reps in, got a lot of things accomplished and, you know, we’ve got to group of, you know, some really smart kids and so you can’t throw too much at them which (2:11) is good and we’re going to keep a simplistic approach”.

Coach Condor also spoke about some returning players he has expectations for, saying, “ Brandon Todd, playing receiver, I’ve got a number of dynamic receivers, but he’s going to lead the way.  He’s going to play the Z receiver for me and as most people in this area know that I’ve lucked out over the course of my career in Garfield County with some good receivers and so he’s going to go down as one of those, he’s going to catch a lot of balls and have a lot of yards and be staying in the end zone a bunch this year.  And so we’ve got, you know, we’re massive up front, both our guards are 6’2″, 280 and so we’re going to be big, and both of our tackles are good size, Sam Hall, 6’2″, 265, so we’re very big up front.

We’re going to be pushing some people around, Malachi Owens will be running the football  for us, he was a thousand plus yard rusher last year, he’s going to end up getting a  ton of carries from the backfield if we play as fast as we’re planning on playing.  We’ve got Brayson Barnes and Manuse Malinsky are battling out the quarterback position,  both of them are doing really good, throwing the ball to perimeter.  Blake Thompson, Blake Thompson in the secondary, he’ll be a senior, led the defense last year  in the secondary with a number of interceptions and a bunch of tackles down the box”.
