In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with DCLA Head Boys Basketball Coach Cole Jones to discuss the upcoming State Tournament.
Jones began by expressing gratification for the Eagles after making it to state since their previous success in 1978.
“Making [it] to the area tournament is hard, and the state tournament is even harder. I give all the credit to my guys. It wasn’t a pretty first half, but the second half might’ve been the best [that] we’ve looked defensively….”
Jones also shared how the community comes together to support the Eagles.
“The community is 100% behind us…I think the whole town was at the Frontier game. They really support these guys.”
The coach went on to discuss how Grant County comes together to root for their local towns.
“If Pond Creek or Medford would’ve made it, we would’ve been behind them; that’s what counties do, they support each other.”
