DCLA Head Football Coach Michael Claflin Talks Offseason

Deer Creek-Lamont Head Football Coach Michael Claflin spoke with CTB Sports about the Eagle’s offseason. DCLA went 2-8 last season, but were much improved and more competitive than their winless season in 2022.

DCLA brings back most of their squad from a young athletic team a year ago. Logan Sutherland and Dawson Scott will be returning at wide receiver and they will be 2 of the best athletes in their district. They will be joined by sophomore Quarterback Will Muegge who will have another year of experience under his belt.

DCLA will remain in Class C and will be in District 3 alongside Medford, Blue Jacket, Copan, Oaks Mission, South Coffeyville, Watts, and Welch. Look for the Eagles to have breakout season and compete for a district title.
