In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Drummond Head Boys Basketball Coach Brady Kokojan to discuss the upcoming matchup with Pond Creek-Hunter in the Regional Tournament.
Kokojan began by highlighting some players on the team who have been making plays, and contributing to the team as a whole.
“I think you got to start [with] Colton Dillingham. He had 18 [points], I was really proud of him because he let it come to him. They did some special things against him, but also Blake Richter [stepped] up; he had 17 big baskets for us. Baylor Burford, he’s been hitting the three ball, which has been big for us. The more scoring threats we get, [the] less pressure it takes off [of] Colton. Nathan Taylor’s been doing a big job inside holding it down. He’s been doing a good job of the boards and really been coming in clutch for us.”
The coach also discussed how the game will go with how stacked PC-H is this year.
“I don’t expect much different. It’s going to be a dog fight…coach Burfold, my assistant, he does a lot of film watching for us; [PC-H] [does] things good, man. They’re scary because they [have] four guys than can shoot the ball really well at any time. And then that Westrope kid inside, he’s a load. We’re going to try our best and come up with something to try and stop that.”
