Visit Enid put out the following press release:
August 20, 2024 – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced today that Enid has been awarded its 2025 Division 1 Women’s National Soccer Tournament.
The 12-team tournament will be played at Enid’s Advance Soccer Complex. The dates for the tournament are November 16-22, 2025.
“Being awarded the 2025 Division I Women’s Soccer Championship at our new Advance Soccer Complex expands and enhances Enid’s longstanding relationship with the NJCAA,” said Mike Steinke, Director of the Advance Soccer Complex. “We will provide a first-rate experience not only for the athletes and coaches competing for a national championship, but also for the fans who will travel to Enid to cheer them on.”
Advance Soccer Complex opened in 2023 with a goal to create opportunities for youth involvement in physical activities to teach major life lessons, with six full-sized natural grass fields, three mid-size fields, a turf championship field with seating for 1,200, an indoor Futsal field, four exquisite locker rooms, a playground and much more.
“I am so pleased to learn we will be hosting the 2025 NJCAA National Women’s Division 1 Soccer Championship,” Enid Mayor David Mason said. “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our community and our new soccer complex”
Rob Houston, director at Visit Enid, said Enid’s proven track record of playing host to the NJCAA Division II World Series since 2009 was not lost on the NJCAA’s soccer selection committee.
“Enid’s longstanding relationship with the NJCAA is, in large part, due to the support of our Enid residents who go above and beyond to make World Series teams feel special and cared about,” Houston said. “Now with the Advance Soccer Complex, Enid has another national championship-caliber sports facility. Add the tremendous community support and Enid checks off all the boxes the NJCAA was looking for.”
The 12 teams will consist of nine district tournament winners and three at-large selections from all across the United States. Houston says the estimated economic impact of this tournament will approach $750,000.
The NJCAA also announced Evans, Georgia and Daytona Beach, Florida as tournament hosts in 2026 and 2027 respectfully.
