In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Enid Plainsmen Head Baseball Coach Brad Gore to discuss the upcoming Edmond Festival.

Brad was proud to share how his players are practicing hard and honing their craft.

“We have a lot of young kids that are really finding their way, excited about the rest of the season.”

Gore talked about how the players learn from each game and become better players. “The evolution of the player and development of the player to get better. Keon [Young] is a really hard worker and works hard on his craft, and he’s not the only guy. Quite a lot of other guys that we saw during the summer looked real solid during the summer, but they look a lot better those six months in the offseason. You can tell they’ve been working hard.”

In emphasizing the core values of his program, Gore highlighted the importance of a winner’s mentality and credits past players for establishing a culture of success.

“The mentality of our program is pretty much what we’re about. And if we don’t get that, then we don’t feel good about our season. And that’s called a winner’s mentality. Our guys have been around a lot of good players, been around a lot of good wins and how to perform…So, [I] give a lot of kudos to the guys before; that created this culture that we have.”
