In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Fairview Head Girls Basketball Coach Olivia Mallory to discuss the upcoming game against Okeene.

Mallory started off by giving an overview of the team’s capabilities.

“Yeah, we weren’t sure what we were going to look like this year. I knew we were going to be really athletic and we’ve got a lot of new faces, but we weren’t sure how we were going to put it all together,” the coach said. “We got off on a good start and beat some good teams and were able to compete with some really high-ranked number-one teams in the state.”

The coach also discussed some shining players on the team.

“I have a freshmen guard, Josie Hayes, and she’s my leading scorer and rebounder this year…a really good athlete and she can get to the rim,” Mallory said. “I return Bentley Bernard, she was our leading scorer last year, and [our] point guard [this year]…I’ve got some seniors in Bailey Petty and Carson Pendergraft who have played a lot of basketball, know what to expect, and are pretty good leaders too.”
