In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Garber Head Boys Basketball Coach Cade Upshaw to discuss the upcoming matchup with Okarche in the Regional Tournament.

Coach Upshaw began by highlighting some key players who have lead, and stepped up this season.

“We [have] a lot of contributions from just about everybody…Brett Howery, who’s one of our best three-point shooters, really got going…he went for five three [pointers] in that game. Colton Steiner, who’s been our best scorer and playmaker this year, he had about 20 and really made some nice plays. But really, all of our starters are really good. And then Kennan Sharp [came] off the bench and hit some threes. We played a really good all-around game, and that was nice to see going into the playoffs.”

The coach also discussed how the matchup against Okarche will go.

“They’re really good. State champs haven’t lost this year; they [have] three guys that can really go…Coach West does a great job; they’re going to cause a lot of chaos; and press, run, and jump. You just got to be basketball players and be strong with the ball, Just go and make plays. Obviously, they’re undefeated and number one for a reason. It’s going to be a tough matchup for us, but I think we got the leadership and six seniors…you can’t make any mistakes….”
