The Hennessey Eagles Head Football Coach Mark Cox sat down with EnidLIVE! to discuss the game on the road versus the Alva Goldbugs.

Coach Cox began by sharing how the previous games had helped the team’s spirits.

“It was great for our guys, big confidence booster. Our guys came out ready to play from the start. We started off hot offensively and defensively. We were getting stops, didn’t let them get much going early…it was a fun game for our guys.”

Cox added on about how the team is doing.

“The vibes [are] really good with the guys. They know that this game is really important as far as our district standings go. A great opportunity going and playing [against] a ranked team. So, the guys are really excited about the opportunity we have this week.”

Coach gave an insight on how the game will go, and what his team is planning on doing against the Goldbugs.

“The first thing I expect from them is a physical football game. They jump off of the film just with their level of physicality. They play like an old-school brand of football. Their old dive option offense and how they’re very physical with how they run it. They run it really well. They have several different guys that make plays for them offensively. Their fullback is a talented, tough kid; he stands out on defense too. That linebacker, he’s one of the best linebackers we’re gonna see all year. So we gotta do a good job of getting him and everyone else blocked up.”
