The Hennessey Eagles have hired Tanner Black to be their next Head Baseball Coach. Coach Black is an Enid High School graduate who was most recently their Head JV Baseball Coach as well as an assistant Coach for Varsity.
As an assistant, he helped lead the Plainsmen to 3 straight trips to the State Tournament from 2022-2024. In 2025, he helped a young team place 2nd in a tough District 3 and host a regional tournament.
Coach Black will take over for the Hennessey Eagles program that was 15-19 last season under the previous Head Baseball Coach, Mathew Fuksa. The 2025 Hennessey Eagles went 2-2 in the 3A Regional Tournament, losing twice to Davis 1st on a 13-0 loss and then in a 13-1 loss.
