Playoff Football is here and Northwest Oklahoma is down to 10 teams left in the playoffs after originally starting with 16 teams! Below are the matchups.
Class A
Fairview @ Rejoice Christian
The Yellowjackets will have to go on the road and knock off #3 Rejoice Christian if they want to keep their hopes at 3-peating as State Champions alive. However, Senior Quarterback Jax Bernard has been in situations like this before. The Yellowjackets have plenty of talent to get the job done.
Cashion @ Pawnee
The Cashion Wildcats won their first playoff game in two years after missing the playoffs the last two seasons. However, Cashion will need to knock off #6 Pawnee on the road if they want to keep their season alive. This is a tall order for the Wildcats.
Class B-1
Garber @ Yale
The Wolverines are riding high off a dominant 36-8 victory over Empire on the road. However, to stay in the playoffs they’re going to need to knock off undefeated Yale on the road. Brett Howry and the senior-led Wolverines are ready for the task.
Class B-2
Seiling vs Cherokee
The Seiling Wildcats have looked completely dominant as they look to defend their Class B State Championship. They will take on a Cherokee team that has improved leaps and bounds throughout the season.
Waukomis @ Weleetka
Waukomis is having their best season in years boasting a playoff win and a #6 ranking, however they now face their toughest test of the season taking in #2 Weleetka on the road.
Covington-Douglas vs Shattuck
Covington-Douglas looks like a threat to win the whole thing. Senior Quarterback Ford Smith is having a great year and has experienced talent around him. Shattuck while still dangerous is not the threat they usually are.
Okeene @ Wilson (Henyretta)
After losing most of their key contributors from last season’s semi-final team the Whippets haven’t lost a step and look poised for another deep postseason run. However they have to knock off a tough Wilson Henryetta on the road.
Class C
Medford @ Ryan
Medford is having an incredible season where they won the district championship after a dominant 66-0 win over Bowlegs they face a tough home game against #3 Ryan. Ryan has experience making deep postseason runs and will prove a tough test.
Timberlake vs Paoli
Timberlake is undefeated and is looking to make it back to the State Championship game for the 1st time since 2021. They will take on #9 Paoli in a home game.
