In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Kellogg Head Baseball Coach Eric Laskovy to discuss the upcoming NJCAA Division 2 Baseball World Series.

The coach started by explaining what has led to the team’s success this year, including its 17-game win streak.

“I think this year’s team is a little bit younger. We had an older team last year that we brought out here to Enid, and we turned over a lot of it. And so there were some growing pains early; these guys, when adversity hit, you saw what they were all about. And that culminated in a 17-game win streak and getting through our regional tournament undefeated. So I couldn’t be prouder of the way these guys have stayed together and continued to grow….”

Coach Laskovy previewed the game against Southeastern.

“Just a huge challenge. Very familiar with their program. They’ve got a lot of very good players, some Power 5 commits. They always play a great schedule. They’re kind of a blue-collar tough team, the way that we [also] pride ourselves on being…When you get out to a World Series, its not supposed to be easy, and we’re certainly starting out with a team that has put up really one of the best overall seasons of anyone in this tournament.”
