On Wednesday, October 18th Kingfisher Head Football Coach Jeff Myers was placed on administrative leave after being charged with child neglect by District Attorney Mike Fields Kingfisher Times and Free Press reports.
Channel 6 News reported that Myers and others were being charged on the same day. Others being charged include former assistant Micah Nall, Kingfisher School Board Member Dana Golbek, and Justin Mecklenberg who is the father of Mason Mecklenberg, one of the accusers.
The Mecklenbergs issued a lawsuit against Kingfisher Public Schools in February of 2022. Kingfisher Public Schools refused a 1.5 million settlement in May of 2023.
