The new Hennessey Head Baseball Coach, Tanner Black, spoke with CTB Sports about taking over the Eagles Baseball program. Coach Black was most recently the Head JV Coach at Enid High School, where he also served as an Assistant Coach on the Varsity Baseball team. He helped coach the Plainsmen to 3 straight State Tournament appearances from 2022-2024.
Coach Black spoke about learning under Enid Head Baseball Coach Brad Gore, saying, “I’ve been so blessed to be able to coach with him and learn under him. Coach Gore is one of the best, I mean if not the best, coaches I think in the state. He’s done a lot of great things at Enid.”
Coach Black also spoke about how he plans to build a successful program at Hennessey saying “The foundation is going to be pretty much kind of the same thing we did at Enid we’re going to practice hard play hard we’re going to lift weights every day you know that and that was a big thing with coach before we had a lifting program”.
