In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with NOC Enid’s Head Baseball Coach Ryan Bay to discuss the team winning seven games in a row.

The coach began with how the team is feeling after all those games.

“We’re playing good baseball right now, coming off of that Labette series and then going to Northwestern…five games in three days. That’s not unheard of, but it’s big to ask your guys to mentally and physically get up and be ready at a high level for that many games in that short period of time; but they did it! They got through it, I would say we went through it a little bit in that Northwestern game. Maybe not our best effort, but good enough to win.”

Bay wanted to highlight some players who have been helping the team keep their win streak.

“It’s several guys [who] played well. Some guys [who] stick out are Jett Trill; he continues to be red hot. Had a nice four-game series there and carried it to Northwestern. Brody Rutledge was a major for us against Labette. Every time we needed a clutch at bat, the guy came up with one…He hit a big two-run home run to tie that thing up. And we fought like crazy through 12 innings to eventually pull that win out…Logan Fielder [is] our Australian freshman outfielder. He too played really well and had a lot of key base hits….”
